The Department of the Navy will be hosting the Annual Wounded Warrior Hiring Conference in Raleigh on May 28-29, 2014.
Vice Admiral David Dunaway, Commander Naval Air Systems Command; Vice Admiral William Hilarides, Commander Naval Sea Systems Command; Rear Admiral Patrick H. Brady, Commander Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command; and I invite you to attend DoN’s 4th Annual Wounded Warrior Hiring and Support Conference on May 28-29, 2014, at the Hilton North Raleigh/Midtown in Raleigh, N.C.
For many wounded, ill and injured service members and disabled veterans, physical and mental healing is only the beginning of the long journey to full recovery. In addition to facing a set of new challenges and adjusting to a “new normal,” many transitioning service members and veterans also struggle to find meaningful employment in the civilian sector. The Department of the Navy is committed to hiring wounded warriors and supporting them in the workplace.
This year, our theme is “Hiring Our Nation’s Heroes – Meet the Challenge, Hire a Veteran!” The conference will bring together government, military, industry leaders, and their human resource professionals, who are committed to hiring and supporting wounded warriors. This forum will promote career development and long-term employment, emphasizing the importance of education and training. Our career fair and workshops will be attended by wounded warriors veterans and their spouses.
To ensure we reach out to veterans across the United States, this year’s conference will be hosted in Raleigh. North Carolina is home to one of the largest wounded warrior and veteran populations in the country and hosts an abundance of industries and educational institutions that offer a strong infrastructure. Raleigh/ Durham is easily accessible to multiple warrior transition units and veteran-focused organizations.
The event is FREE & open to all services, veterans, spouses and Wounded Warriors. We hope you could join us for the event.
